I picked Sean up at the airport wednesday night, after 10 long weeks of
being apart it was so wonderful to see him and get wrapped up in his arms
again. We stopped at Cold Stone for ice cream on our way home, and then
spent the evening just enjoying each other's company, relaxing and having
a lovely cuddle on the sofa. Which was nice, because after that, the
pre-wedding whirlwind started!
Thursday, we got up real early, since Sean was still on UK time, and went to the gym and breakfast. We really love just doing the little every day things together, because we so rarely get to. Even though we see each other relatively often for people who live so far apart, usually we're meeting somewhere neither of us live and staying a hotel, so it's nice to get to do homey things together when we get the opportunity. Anyhow, we then took all the wedding favours and accessories over to the Skansonia before heading to the airport to pick up Sean's dad. |

The 3 of us had a fun afternoon, we went to the New Orleans for lunch and then on the Seattle Underground tour, before taking Dad back to the hotel. I should add that the weather turned crappy thursday after having been lovely and hot and sunny for days. Thursday was unseasonably cold and cloudy, and I was just hoping that it was a weird 1 day phenomenon. No such luck! Once again at 4:30 am friday Sean was wide awake and wanting to go to the gym! We went at 5:30, and then Dad came over and we went to breakfast and had a drive around the neighbourhood. Dad then went to the airport to pick up Sean's Aunt Denise, Uncle Rudy, and Mamma Darlene while Sean and I went to the Nordstrom Spa for wonderful relaxing massages. We also had to go buy the boy some shoes at The Bon while we were there, since his summer shoes that he had brought were hurting his feet, and that was going to make for a long bunnymoon. So we remedied the shoe crisis, and headed to the hotel to meet up with Sean's family and my dear friend Amy for dinner. The 7 of us had a wonderful time at Piatti. I really enjoy spending time with Sean's family, we get along great which is very nice for me as well as for Sean! I was glad to have the extra time to spend with Amy too, we don't get to see each other near enough. We all ate delicious italian food and talked for hours. By the time we got back to the hotel it was almost 11, and I was exhausted from 2 days of getting up before 5! I said good night to Sean, who was staying at the hotel friday and saturday nights, and headed out. It was so weird to leave him somewhere, you know, when we're in the same city we're together 24/7, and it felt so wrong to say good bye and leave! I stopped outside in the smoking area and spent some time talking to Amy who was reading one of my issues of Hello! (which she finds as addictive as I do :). Anyhow, it was hard not to go back upstairs and tell Sean this was stupid and bring him home with me, but I didn't because I knew he wanted to spend time with his family before the wedding and I wanted a night to myself as well. So instead I called him on my cell and we talked on the phone all the way home. Saturday morning, I had to get up at 5 and take my doggie Savannah to the vet. She'd been having digestive problems all week, I'd had her to the doctor on monday, but friday she started having trouble walking as well, which was very frightening. They prescribed her some pills and said she should be okay, so I took her home, got dressed, and headed to the hotel about an hour ahead of schedule. I stopped and picked up a white chocolate mocha for Sean, and then called him from outside his hotel room. I'd been supposed to call at 7:30 to wake him up, so I was just a bit early. He answered and I said good morning and he asked how Nannah was. I said I would tell him in a moment, but that there was a surprise outside his hotel room door. He told me to hang on and opened to door to find me there waiting with the coffee! The look on his face was so sweet, he definitely liked his surprise. It gave us some extra time to have a snuggle and talk before breakfast, which was lovely. We met up with the family and all my girlfriends who had arrived by then, and after the most delicious french toast ever at Portage Bay, all us girlies went to the nail salon to start the primping. On the way there, I dropped Sean off for a facial and a pedicure with my aesthetician, so he didn't feel let out of the beauty treatements :) After my nails were done, I picked him up and we hotfooted it back across the lake to get our hair done (colour for me and a cut for him) before scampering back to my place so I could dress for dinner, then heading back to the hotel in time for him to change and to meet up with everyone else. Phew! We had an amazing delicious rehearsal dinner at Salty's on Alki beach courtsey of Dad's generosity. They gave us a table with a goregeous view, the food was exceptional, and a great time was had by all. Afterwards, Sean and I went to his room to exchange wedding gifts. He gave me a beautiful handmade wooden box that he'd gotten in Morocco, and inside it were all the ticket stubs, receipts, and silly souvenirs he'd saved through the course of our relationship. It really touched my heart to see all the little pieces of our dates nestled in this gorgeous box, it was such a romantic and perfect gift. He was totally overwhelmed by the study Bible I'd had personalized for him. It was a really memorable time for us, and when I started to walk away to go home, it hit me that the next time I saw him he'd be standing at the foot of the stairs in uniform waiting to walk down the aisle with me. I was overcome, burst into tears and ran back to him for another hug and kiss, before saying good bye again and heading out. It was girly slumber party heaven at my house that night! 5 of us hung out, went over The Plan for Sunday, got all my last mintue stuff together, and just had fun being together. But we missed our other 2 princesses, Cathi & Wendey, who weren't able to be with us! I finally decided I had to sleep so I'd be at my best for the big day, and went to bed sometime before midnight with a smile on my face.
